Villa Z
It was designed on a south sloping land in a residential area in Greece.
The property is quite small, around 650 sq m. There are walls of houses near the south and east borders.
On the west side there is a house just 2.5 meters from the property boundary.
Its windows are right on the facade in front of the client’s house.
On the plus side there are 10 meters of clear space from the road to the north, which makes the plot optically larger. One of the main needs of the client was to design the best house with up to 350 m2 of living space which included four bedrooms, a garage, living rooms, spa, etc.
These limitations were the most significant in the design of the home concept.
The house is designed to be open to the south and in it using a central patio on the second floor.
This takes advantage of the beautiful south view of the hills and a scenic forest on the horizon.
On the south sides, all the living areas have been created with private terraces that are always hidden or somehow covered from the view of the neighbors.
Other facades only use wide, narrow windows at the top of the rooms to bring light into utility rooms such as bathrooms and stairways, but they maintain privacy.
